Sometimes to achieve economic results, you don’t need to innovate by acquiring new technology, you just need to organise what you already have in-house, trying to minimise waste. This is what we in DT Software believe and we always take great care to advise our customers on the best strategies to optimise the cost/benefit ratio. In this situation, one of our customers found themselves constantly having to carry out maintenance on an electronic board controlling heat treatment in a furnace. This board, responsible for controlling the start-up and shut-down of the burners in rotation, was unfortunately malfunctioning frequently, incurring constant repair costs.
Improvement does not always require innovation, you just have to optimise what you already have.
Solution
DT Software was contacted to resolve the issue. Through detailed analysis of the electronic board operation, a software algorithm was created to reproduce its functions. This algorithm was developed and modified in complete synergy with the customer who shared their experience with us. The countless moments of sharing made it possible not only to achieve the objective, but also to improve operation by introducing a number of different parameter settings on the operator panel.
Result
All this allowed our customer not only to eliminate the electronic board from the equipment, with a consequent reduction in operating costs, but also to optimise it independently, improving the user experience for the operator who can now count on a much simpler and more intuitive man-machine interface without compromising functionality.
